Universal Charger release
New development!!! The Universal Charger Hardware has been released. the material present on this website allow to build a charger/discharger for NiCd, NiMh, LiPo, Li-ion, A123, VRLA (valve regulated Lead Acid batteries - or car batteries) and SLA (Sealed Lead Acid batteries). Completely user configurable, it can be connected to the PC for general management or used stand-alone on the field for generic battery fast charging. The firmware is completely compatible with the hardware already developed for the Advanced Charger, the hardware overcomes some limitations of the old charger. Check the dedicated website area for the released schematics, assemblies, PCB files (now also on GERBER format for professional realization), PC programs, manuals and PIC programming files.
New development site for Italian people!!! The independent website www.oscilloscopio.it has started a close joint venture with www.seven-segments.com. All the projects available on seven-segments will be available on oscilloscopio.it: all the material will be translated in Italian language (manuals, firmware, programs, building instructions...). All the material related to the projects development will be available after the registration. In the same way, the projects on oscilloscopio.it will be available on seven-segments.

The first brick for the LiPo batteries management is the LiPo balancer. This system allows the correct recharge of the LiPo batteries shunting the recharge current in order to maintain the cells voltage under a safe threshold. If the balancer fails to keep the voltage under the maximum allowable it stops the charge disconnecting the battery pack.
The system has a modular costruction giving to the user the possibility to choose the maximum number of chargeable LiPo cells... (more)
Acoustic RPM counter
A very simple RPM counter based on a cheap microphone and sound card has been released. Check the RPM of your motor directly with your computer without a need of a specific instrument and without installation of sensors in your model. DC DC converter for HV charger
An high power DC/DC converter has been developed for specific usage with the Advanced Charger HV. Starting from a 12V battery the DC DC converter can deliver a voltage up to 28V and a current up to 5 Amp, charging and discharging packs of 14 cells... (more)

Advanced Charger High Voltage
The Advanced Charger High Voltage (HV) has been released. Charge and discharge up to 19 cells with minimal hardware differences (with respect to the Advanced Charger) and suitable power supply. Also the firmware for the Advanced Charger has been updated.
Seven Segments explained
Here you can find original electronic project for hobby and RC models (train models, cars models, naval models), divided into main categories and organized in projects.
In each project you can find a certain number of articles or documents, each describing one or more parts of the projects itself, for example some documents describe the theory behind the project, others focus on the electrical diagrams, other focus on the digital logic (FPGA, microcontroller, PIC, processors and so on).
The last resource of each project contains the list of available files, which are all the documentation and source files necessary to reproduce the project: for example PIC source files, FPGA HDL and programming files, electrical diagrams, PCB gerber files, components list and whatever else.

A set of two PC program, one for profiles management and the other for waveform display/store, have been released.
24V, 5A DC DC converter
The 24V, 5A DC DC converter has been developed to power supply the Advanced Charger HV. The footprint is the same of the charger and allow the building of a compact charge/discharge system for battery packs up to 14 cells.
